If you only visit one thing in Belgrade, make it Kalemegdan (and get a new itinerary planner). This massive fortress double up as the main park in the city, a vast stretch of green that is full of monuments, museums, exhibitions and more. Kalemegdan is far and away the most visited of Belgrade\u2019s attractions, and it isn\u2019t entirely difficult to see why. The trees provide some refreshing shade in the summer, although you may struggle to find a bench to sit on that isn\u2019t already occupied by an ice cream-licking local.
\nIt is easy to spend an entire day within the grounds of Kalemegdan, nipping into the Military Museum or ticking off the heroes honoured with busts around the park. Some may even be fine with paying slightly over the odds to see some dinosaur models. No fee is charged for the Belgrade\u2019s most romantic spot however, as the sun sets behind a view of the magical confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers.<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
